Battle of the Brains
Battle of The Brains is a nationally televised high level academic science competition for high school students who have or are currently covering the topics outlined for The Bhamas General Certificate of Secondary Examination (BGCSE) in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
Pharma Chem began funding the Battle of The Brains Competition in 2003.
Since 2007, PharmaChem have been the main sponsors for The Battle of The Brains competition.
The aim of career fair is to create an outlet for students across the island of Grand Bahama, to be introduced to companies in the maritime, technical and industrial sectors and the careers which are available in each.
PharmaChem uses the opportunity within the Annual Grand Bahama Industrial and Technical Career Opportunities Fair to share with the 9th graders of the Grand Bahama island, possible job opportunities in a career of science.
The current PharmaChem site has supported the Junior Achievement Program for over 28 years (starting from the Syntex Pharmaceuticals Era).
Today, PharmaChem continues to support the JA Program and has positively impacted the lives of thousands of students. Many of the former students who participated in the JA Program at the PharmaChem site, are now outstanding professionals.
Our CEO Randy Thompson continues to serve as a member of the JA Board of Directors and has a passion for the positive development of the youth.
Every year, PharmaChem takes a few of their athletes to New Providence to compete in the Marathon Bahamas relay.
In addition, PharmaChem sponsors the relay in support of breast cancer awareness.
